Kevin provides a pretty unique service; I don't know of anywhere else in the Denver area where middle schoolers (and younger) have opportunities to play real gigs in coffee shops / restaurants / bars and get the thrill of having an audience that extends beyond friends and family. I appreciated the combination of 1:1 lessons to focus on my child's specific needs/skill development with the opportunity to be a part of a band and all that entails : landing on song selections, determining solos, bonding and community building, etc. On the parent side of things, Kevin is superbly organized when it comes to communication, calendaring and invoicing, yet flexible when it comes life's curve balls with illnesses or other unforeseen complications: he offers both synchronous and asynchronous video lessons depending on the circumstance. Strum 2 The Beat has been a great place for my budding musician to grow his skills and find a fun community. Highly recommend!

Kevin has been teaching my 10 yo son drum lessons since June and it has been wonderful experience. This is the first music lesson my son has ever had, so he didn't know what to expect. Kevin has been an awesome drum teacher for my 8 year old son. His technique is the perfect blend between music fundamentals and playing songs for fun. I love that if you give him enough notice that you need to miss a lesson, he will record a video lesson. We rewatch those over an over! His level of professionalism with running his business from communication to accounting is also impressive. It's hard to wear a lot of hats, but he does it well! We highly recommend Kevin!
Kevin is so patient and an excellent music teacher. My child is shy and within 15 minutes of meeting Kevin, our son felt comfortable to learn and asked me to leave the room. Kevin also uses play to get the students to engage and gives them hand written practice lesson plans. He makes learning music look so easy.
